Max Kreisky of Anachronismo! and True Tales of the Illuminati joins Julia and Geoffrey to discuss one of his childhood faves: The Princess and the Goblin.
Image Description: A grey cat with a white chin and chest looks pleased. This is Turnip, MVP of this movie.
This is a Hungarian/Welsh/Japanese co-production from 1994—the same year as The Lion King—and based on a novel from 1872 by George MacDonald. It’s a fairly faithful adaptation of the book’s plot, but not a terribly good movie, alas. There’s a reason you will most likely have heard of The Lion King and not this one.
We also talk about Hilltop Hospital, since Sally Ann Marsh (voice of the eponymous Princess) is Nurse Kitty, and Julia shares a somewhat alarming out of context clip of “Skin Deep”.
Kitties come up a lot, and we make a ton of vulgar jokes in this episode. So, you know, be warned!
